Homeschool House is an microschool with hybrid homeschool and enrichment class options created with the goal of providing 'what you need' to homeschool families - from a full academic program to just once a week enrichment classes to strengthen what you do at home, Homeschool House is here to provide drop-off class options to support your custom homeschool experience.
For the 2026-27 school year, we are supporting grades PK4 through 8th grade through core and enrichment classes. We also offer Saturday Science, tween night, and teen night for social experiences for homeschool students up to age 17. Homeschool House serves students from early elementary through middle school. Our small, mixed-age classes allow children to learn together in a collaborative environment, so students can grow at their own pace while benefiting from peer learning.
Homeschool House blends the structure of a microschool with the flexibility and values of homeschooling. Classes are intentionally small and mixed-age, allowing students to learn through hands-on projects, real-world application, and discussion complemented by worksheets and light computer instruction. This creates a thoughtful balance between academic skill-building and meaningful application. Our days are intentionally designed to include outdoor movement, creative enrichment, and focused academics so students can engage deeply without burnout. Unlike many co-ops, our drop-off classes are educator-led, providing continuity, clear progress, and a true classroom experience while still honoring each family’s freedom to choose the academic path that works best for them.
Families choose their own schedule by selecting the classes and days that best fit their needs. Once enrolled in a class, regular attendance is expected so students can fully participate and build on ongoing learning with their peers. That said, we understand that family experiences, travel, and real-life learning are just as valuable as time in the classroom. When absences happen, we aim to be flexible and supportive while maintaining a consistent learning environment for the group.
Homeschool House believes learning should be meaningful, balanced, and developmentally appropriate. Our instruction is hands-on, discussion-based, and grounded in real-world application, with just enough structure to build strong academic foundations. We use a mix of projects, direct instruction, reading, worksheets, and light technology to support skill development without overreliance on screens.
Because most of our classes are below a 8:1 ratio of student to teacher, we can offer more one on one instruction and adaptation for students than most other academic experiences. In addition, our staff is experienced in helping learners with a variety of needs.
Students attending the full day are dropped off at our car line between 8:00 and 8:15 AM. We begin each morning with a student-led morning meeting, which includes time for a morning snack and tea, a discussion of the day’s plans, and an opportunity for students to share announcements or exciting news with their peers.
After morning meeting, students break into age-based groups and begin their academic blocks. Mondays and Wednesdays focus on Language Arts and Arithmetic, while Tuesdays and Thursdays include Social Studies, Historical Science, and Applied Math. Mid-morning, students take a break from academics for Physical Education, which includes a warm-up, learning a new game or activity (with an emphasis on yard games), an ab workout, a cool-down, and a brief health discussion.
Following PE, students return to academics until lunch at 11:00 AM. After lunch, the day slows briefly with independent reading, followed by recess. Once recess ends, students transition back into academic work. On Mondays and Wednesdays, this often includes “What I Need” time, where students may work one-on-one with a teacher for extra support, finish unfinished work, or—especially for younger students—rest or engage in quiet creative activities.
The core day wraps up with an afternoon meeting, where students reflect on the day and talk through any social or emotional situations that arose. This time helps build communication skills and gives context for navigating peer relationships, not just academics.
Some students head home at the end of the core program, while others stay for afternoon enrichment classes, which are hands-on and project-based. Students enjoy another outdoor break and snack at 2:00 PM before finishing afternoon classes and preparing for pickup at 3:30 PM.
We communicate with parents via BAND (an app for small group sharing of information and pictures) as well as quarterly assessments to show progress. For core class students in PK4 to 4th grade we use a progress scale that transates into a more typical numeric quarterly grade at 5th grade level. We also do quick touch-base parent communications at drop off and pick up. Parents can request an in-person meeting at any time using our online scheduling option.
Our dress code is simple and practical. Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely, participate safely in physical education, and engage in outdoor activities. Clothes should be appropriate for hands-on learning and able to get messy. Our focus is on learning, play, and comfort rather than strict clothing rules.
Students are supervised at all times by experienced educators, both indoors and outdoors, with clear expectations for behavior and movement between activities. Our small class sizes allow staff to know students well and respond quickly to individual needs. We use a structured drop-off and pick-up process, maintain consistent routines throughout the day, and ensure age-appropriate supervision during PE, outdoor play, and hands-on projects. We also prioritize open communication with families and take a proactive, community-based approach to social and emotional safety so students feel supported, seen, and secure throughout the day.
We offer themed afternoon enrichment classes each day of the week. Each day has a theme but we switch out the topic we check out in depth every 8 weeks. Our focus for history especially is to create fun, hands-on activities that resonate and enhance student learning. Our afternoon enrichment schedule is as follows:
Monday - Science
Tuesday - Technology
Wednesday - Art
Thursday - Nature or Cooking
We also offer beginner and intermediate orchestra. Students get to have orchestra in a small group weekly session and then play with the larger Bell County Youth Orchestra.
We do not offer standardized testing or help with test prep. Please reach out if you would like recommendations based on what test you are getting ready for and we can suggest what service in our area would be right for you.
Our tuition depends on what classes you are choosing for your child. For full microschool all day classes, our tuition is $7500 for the school year which can be broken into monthly payments. Our quarterly enrichment classes have a base price of $180 for 8 sessions, with the price changing somewhat depending on number of sessions and if there are exceptional costs (like for cooking based classes). View all our classes with clear pricing here.
For Core classes, families are asked to commit for the full school year, but we understand that circumstances can change, particuarly for our military families. Families are welcome to schedule a "try-out" day to make sure our core classes are right for them by calling 254-831-3070. Students may withdraw with 30 days’ notice, giving families flexibility while respecting our classroom planning and community.
For enrichment classes, we do not typically offer refunds, but families are welcome to try a Saturday Science single meeting class before committing to a full quarter. This allows students to get a feel for our classes and ensure it’s a good fit before enrolling long-term.
We offer a 5% discount on most classes for siblings when enrolling 2 or more siblings at one time. Please note that they need to be enrolled in the same transaction for this discount! We also have a scholarship available for full microschool attendance for families of 3 or more.
New Texas private school funding laws will take effect in the 2026–27 school year. After careful consideration and discussions with current families, Homeschool House has decided not to participate in these programs at this time. While these funding opportunities may provide financial support, they also come with state requirements that could limit some of the flexibility and freedoms families currently enjoy with homeschooling. We may revisit this decision in the future, but for now, our focus is on maintaining the freedom, creativity, and individualized learning experience that our families value most.
New families begin with a tour of Homeschool House, which includes a casual meeting with our team to answer questions and get to know your family. If available, we offer a try-out day so your student can experience a class and see how it feels. Afterward, we help you choose the classes that best fit your child’s interests and learning style, and then you can complete the enrollment process. This approach ensures every family feels confident and comfortable before committing to the full program. We will offer an oreintation day in the fall exclusively for families that are signed up for classes or have reached out about classes.
Supplies needed for each class are listed in the class descriptions. In general, items that are used exclusively by your student like folders, pencils, and independent reading books are the responsibility of the family. All other materials, especially those shared for hands-on projects and classroom activities, are provided by Homeschool House.
