Homeschool House opened its doors in 2020 with one simple goal: to support homeschool families. What began with elective classes and curriculum sales has grown into something much more. In 2024, we stepped away from selling curriculum so we could focus fully on high-quality classes and meaningful learning experiences for homeschoolers.
Today, we offer:
Core academics through block scheduling: English Language Arts, Math, History, and Science
Enrichment and electives like Science, Nature Studies, Orchestra, Technology, Visual Arts, Performance Arts, and more
Homeschooling doesn’t look the same for every family. And it shouldn’t.
That’s why Homeschool House offers:
Single-meeting classes for flexibility and exploration
8-week elective courses for deeper learning
Part-time and full-time microschool options for families who want more structure
Single-meeting social classes for those families that only need a social outlet for their students.
Whether you’re supplementing at home or looking for a hybrid solution, we’re here to meet you where you are.
We believe homeschooling works best when families feel supported, connected, and confident. Our hybrid approach allows parents to stay actively involved while students benefit from:
Experienced, caring instructors
Small group learning
Hands-on, engaging classes
A welcoming community of fellow homeschool families
Our Educators
Allison Wilson, the founder of Homeschool House, has been teaching other people’s children in the co-op/homeschool world for 11 years. She started her homeschooling journey when her son was in kindergarten as an ‘accidental homeschooler.’ Not wanting her son to go to two or three schools in one school year during her husband’s change of duty station, her family decided to homeschool for one year. When arriving in Temple, TX, they fell in love with the vibrant and eclectic homeschool community here and decided to continue homeschooling. Her son is currently a student at Temple College.
Brenda Nelson taught in the public school sector in language arts for over 30 years. She holds her masters in Special Education and is certified in Dyslexia training to help teach children to read.
Jimi-Carol Benton has a masters in Psychology and has been teaching in co-ops and homeschool classrooms for 8 years.
Caci Dunnahoo is a passionate and experienced educator with a heart for teaching young children. As a mom of two, she understands the curiosity and creativity that thrives in early learners. Caci brings hands-on experience from working in a Montessori-style classroom, where she helped preschoolers develop independence and a love for learning through child-centered approaches.
Andrew Lauck holds a B.A. in Biochemistry and A.A. in Acting. He is a certified teacher and has over 8 years of teaching experience both in accredited classrooms and homeschooling classes. He brings a creative edge from his background in theater and film, along with a passion for science fueled by advanced studies in forensics, chemistry, and history.
