This is a complete listing of policies for all classes. Please note that some policies (like payment plans) do not apply to all classes. Signing up for our classes indicate agreement with these policies as they apply to your class.
At Homeschool House, we partner with parents to create a hands-on, engaging learning environment. Our focus on group learning, science, and exploration is designed to spark a lifelong love of learning.
Parents are the primary guides in their child’s education and should be actively involved at every step. Homeschool House is built on the understanding that children learn best through hands-on activities, play, and experimentation both independently and in small groups.
We support families by offering group learning experiences that are challenging to recreate at home.
We believe it’s most important for children to hear about worldviews directly from their parents. Our classes are worldview-neutral and do not promote or criticize any religion or lack of religion.
We value stewardship and leadership.
Stewardship means taking care of ourselves, one another, and the space we share.
Leadership means stepping up—whether we’re guiding a project, leading a discussion, or helping our classroom thrive.
These values guide how we learn, work, and build community together.
Our main communication tool is the BAND app. If you need to reach your student’s teacher, please message the Staff subgroup. This ensures your message reaches all staff and avoids communication gaps if someone is unavailable. The secure code to access our BAND group will be provided in the first email to confirm class information.
You may also call our school landline and leave a message. However, since our staff are actively engaged with students during the day, we may not be able to answer right away. Voicemails are checked as time allows, but for the fastest response, please contact us through BAND.
All students are escorted to and from the building by a staff member. Students must remain in their car (at drop-off) or inside the building (at pick-up) until a staff member is available to escort them.
Location:
The drop-off and pick-up line runs along westbound Bending Branch Way, directly next to the building.
Drop-Off Times
Core Class (Morning): 8:00–8:15 AM
Enrichment (Afternoon): 12:45–1:00 PM
If you prefer, you may park in the front lot and walk your child to the cubby room door during these windows.
Running Late?
If you arrive after classes begin (after 8:30 AM for Core or 1:00 PM for Enrichment), park in the front lot and walk your child to the front door. Please wait with them until a staff member opens the door and welcomes them in.
Pick-Up Times

If you’re running late, message our staff via BAND as soon as possible.
You may park in the front lot and walk to the back door to receive your child at pick-up.
Core teachers track student progress and provide quarterly updates to parents. These updates are based on classroom observation, participation, and project work. We use a skills-based scale to communicate progress:
Novice → Emerging → Developing → Proficient → Advanced → Mastered
This scale helps us focus on growth over time and provides meaningful feedback without relying solely on traditional letter grades.
As always, parents are the primary facilitators of their child’s education and may assign formal grades if desired for their homeschool records.
Starting in the 26-27 School Year, we will be maintaining number grades for students in 5th grade and above.
Technology is a powerful tool, but we prioritize hands-on learning whenever possible. We use technology to intentionally support student research, connect with outside experts, or access lessons and experiences that wouldn’t otherwise be available in our classrooms.
Students may use personal devices (such as phones, tablets, or laptops) only when a teacher has given permission during class. At all other times, personal devices must remain turned off and stored in backpacks.
Students are allowed to bring one stuffed animal or toy that is smaller than a toaster. Their toy must remain in their cubby except at recess time. Homeschool House is not responsible for lost or damaged toys. If a toy is particularly disruptive, students may be asked to keep that specific item at home.
Each student needs to bring their own snack, lunch, and water bottle. Lunch starts at 11:00. Each student needs to bring their lunch every day. We will have some fridge space available for food storage as well as a microwave. A water cooler is available to refill water bottles.
We provide a supplies list for class. Student supplies belong to each individual student and will not be shared. Please have students mark their supplies with their name. They're welcome to bring things that show their personality! Additionally, while class sets of books are provided, parents should expect to purchase or borrow individual reading books. Example: Each child chooses an independent reading book from a list of options, parents are responsible for checking it out from the library or purchasing it.
Parents are welcome to donate supplies if they so desire. We take wide-ruled loose-leaf paper, printer paper, white cardstock, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, markers, and other supplies as needed. We have an Amazon wishlist as well.
Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes (not Crocs) when playing outside at Homeschool House. Since outdoor play is a daily priority, students must bring or wear closed-toe shoes every day they attend. Clothing should be weather-appropriate and comfortable for outdoor activity. Younger students are encouraged to keep a labeled change of clothes in their backpack in case of spills, messes, or accidents.
Keep children home if they have a fever over 100.5 F, vomited in the last 24 hours, rash, lice, or nits, diarrhea, eye infection, sore throat, OR they’re not feeling very good (unusually tired, pale, lack of appetite, confused or cranky). Children must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
Students are expected to show courtesy and respect to everyone in class and within the facility. To keep everyone safe, running indoors and throwing sharp or dangerous items are not allowed. Students should not bring anything to class that could harm others.
Active participation in class is also expected. If a student’s behavior or lack of participation disrupts the learning environment, they may be asked to step out temporarily.
If disruptive behavior continues, the teacher and parent will meet to develop a behavior plan aimed at helping the student have a positive and successful experience with their peers. Behavior plans often include a parent shadowing their child for a day.
If the behavior plan is declined or the behavior persists, the student’s enrollment may be reconsidered, and their space at Homeschool House could be forfeited.
If Homeschool House is closed due to inclement weather, you will be notified via
BAND
Homeschool House’s Facebook page
We will try to make up bad weather days whenever possible.
A non-refundable, non-transferable registration and supply fee is due at registration to reserve your child’s space at Homeschool House LAB.
Parents can customize their tuition payment plan through Amilia. Options include:
Pay in full
Pay by semester
Pay monthly
Supply lists are provided under each class description.
Tuition payments allow us to provide quality educational programs. To make classes affordable, the full-year price can be divided into even monthly payments. For year- or semester-long classes, you may choose monthly or weekly payment plans. No all classes have payment plans available, for example summer camps or one time meeting classes.
If your financial situation changes, please contact Allison Wilson as soon as possible. If tuition is beyond one month late, the student will not be allowed to attend class until payment is received, and their space may be forfeited.
Tuition is not reduced or prorated for absences or scheduled breaks. For example, tuition is due even if your child is on vacation.
Early drop-off and aftercare are available for one-time or occasional use. Please call or email to schedule in advance:

Pick-up times:
Core classes: 12:45–1:00 PM
Enrichment classes: 3:30–3:45 PM
If you expect to be late, please notify staff via BAND. We understand that things happen, but habitual late pick-up may result in a late fee of $1 per minute added to your invoice.
A 30-day written notice is required for early withdrawal. Failure to provide notice will result in a charge for the upcoming month’s tuition. If a student is expelled, tuition will not be refunded or prorated.
Parents are required to sign participants in and out for teen, tween, and Saturday science classes. Additionally, students in these classes are not allowed to bring chewing gum to class.
